methadone treatment in maine in jeopardy! Please go to our main blog to learn more on how to help us fight Mainecare cut backs to methadone treatment in Maine that could have devastating consequences for years to come!

Yesterday was the state of Maine's METOD chapter meeting. Merrimack River Medical Services in Portland was gracious enough to host the meeting and the lunch.
METOD is the Maine chapter of AATOD (www.aatod.org)  This group works hard to make sure that Maine providers offer best practice and evidence based treatment through out the state.  I am so pleased that they allow me to join them as a patient voice!

Today we will be adding many new PDF files to our pamphlet and links pages.  These files cover everything from methadone treatment basics, use of addiction-friendly language to research and statistics on medication assisted treatment and recovery.  Hopefully next week I will be adding a page all about RECOVERY, which is very different from treatment!
AND PLEASE contact us through the website or our email for more information on any subject pertaining to methadone or Suboxone treatment!  We have an extensive library and network of information!
We have also added a facebook and twitter (see our badge at the top of the page) account to the ARM-ME arsenal! Check them out!
Thank you for visiting and keep stopping by to see what we've added!

    Our Director

ARM-ME's Director and Lead Advocate, Kristan Hilchey,  works with many different groups across the state of Maine and the US to fight for patients rights,  overdose prevention, evidence based treatment and (most importantly) to bring RECOVERY oriented treatment to addicts who utilize medication assisted treatment (MAT) such as methadone and Suboxone for opiate addiction. She says her most challenging work is convincing people that Medication Assisted Recovery (MAR) is possible and thriving through out the state.

Kristan recently won a statewide award for women's leadership in recovery from WASC for the work that she does in Maine.
